After working inside large retail chains, Gisele Crespo saw how easy it was for people to feel rushed or treated like a number. We knew there had to be a more personal way to care for patients. So we built a boutique optical practice where relationships come first.

The Story Behind Mango Optic
Mango Optic is built on family, culture, service, and a belief that vision care should feel deeply personal. The story begins long before our Boca Raton boutique opened, with Gisele Crespo’s childhood in Brazil and a calling to help others.
A Calling Rooted in Care
Long before Mango Optic opened in Boca Raton, the story began in Floresta, Brazil, where Gisele Crespo grew up watching her grandfather serve as the town’s only pharmacist. In a place with limited access to healthcare, he was more than a provider. He was someone people trusted when they needed help most.
That example stayed with her. From a young age, Gisele felt drawn to a life of service and knew she wanted to help people in a meaningful way.
Where Mangoes Meet Meaning
Another part of the story was growing right alongside that calling: mangoes. As a girl in Brazil, Gisele loved climbing mango trees barefoot and enjoying the fruit with her family. Mangoes became tied to joy, culture, and home.
When Jaime Crespo began thinking about what to name the boutique, the answer felt personal and memorable. Mango Optic brought together Gisele’s love of mangoes, her passion for helping others, and a name rooted in family and culture.

From Boston Training to a Boca Raton Boutique
Gisele eventually found her path in opticianry while living in Boston. She enrolled in the opticianry program at Franklin Cummings Tech, formerly Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, where she stood out as a student leader and earned recognition for excellence, citizenship, and service.
Opticianry gave her a way to combine healthcare and fashion while helping people see clearly and feel confident. After working in both corporate and boutique optical settings, Gisele and Jaime moved to Boca Raton to begin a new chapter.
After becoming a Florida-licensed optician, the vision for Mango Optic became clear: create an optical boutique where patients feel welcomed, understood, and genuinely cared for.
